@BKK:
August + September:
Wii - 97,000
PS3 - 72,500
360 - 47,000
Thats not right! In End of July the LTD for Wii, PS3 and 360 were:
Wii - 291.000
Xbox 360 - 281.000
PS3 - 99.500
The LTD for the End of October are:
Wii - 389.000
Xbox 360 - 328.000
PS3 - 172.000
As you can see the numbers above fits (almost) perfectly. So its not September + August, but August - October. (so all three months together).
Here is an analysis/ some stats of myself for the data:
Sales October:
Playstation 3 - 37.000
Nintendo Wii - 28.000
Xbox 360 - 12.000
Market Share October:
Playstation 3 - 48 %
Nintendo Wii - 36,4 %
Xbox 360 - 15,6 %
LTD End of July :
Nintendo Wii - 291.000
Xbox 360 - 281.000
Playstation 3- 99.500
LTD End of October:
Nintendo Wii - 389.000
Xbox 360 - 328.000
Playstation 3 - 172.000
Sales-changes from August - October (3 Months) :
Nintendo Wii - 98.000 (average of ca. 33.000 per month)
Playstation 3 - 72.500 (average of ca. 24.000 per month)
Xbox 360 - 47.000 (average of ca. 16.000 per month)
Market share End of October: (Comparsion to Market share End of July)
Nintendo Wii - 43,8 % (+ 0,5%)
Xbox 360 - 36,9 % (- 5,0 %)
Playstation 3 - 19,3 % (+ 4,5 %)
If the Playstation 3 continue to sell 25.500 (like August - October) Units more in 3 months than the Xbox 360, it will overtake the Xbox 360 in 18-19 months.
Should the PS3 continue to sell 25.000 (like in October) more per month than the Xbox 360, it will obertake the Xbox 360 in circa 6 months.
As you can see, the PS3 could only sell 25.500 more Units than the Xbox 360 in this three months - but in the last (October) alone it sold 25.000 units more than the xbox 360 - so in August and Septembre (Price cut & Halo 3) the sales were balanced between PS3 & 360.
Some more stats:
Xbox 360 - 328.000 units in 23. months (14.200 in average per month)
Nintendo Wii - 389.000 units in 11 months (35.360 in average per month)
PS3 - 172.000 units in 8 months (21.500 in average per month)
