Some might like this, others might not. I thought this list was incredible, as I had no idea Blue Dragon sold as well as it did (VGChartz NEEDS to update their numbers!!!!!!!)

Okay, a few thoughts:

Blue Dragon is nearing 200k finally! I thought it was DOA around 130k units, but appearently it's still selling at a decent rate (6k to 7k units a month). The amazing thing is the tier ratio: nearly 50% of all 360 owners in Japan own a copy. This is one of the highest tier ratios in Japan, ever. Next to Wii Sports and Wii play of course.

Its interesting to see DOA4 and DOAX2 doing so well, as well as seeing Dead Rising (a Z-rated game) do so well on the lists. Obviously software sales for the 360 in Japan suck, so it's nice to see a few games that have a near 15% ownership rating.

 I think this bodes well for Trusty Bell which comes out in a few weeks: with BD selling darn well near 180k units, and TB getting it's own bundle, we could see BD hit 200k that week due to new adopters wanting other JRPGs. TB could even hit 150k at max (really high number, but possible w/ pack-in sales).

Obviously RSV which sold 8k units and TDU which sold 7k aren't on the list, but I think the list is pretty good. It shows that software sales are pretty decent in Japan, despite an absolutely abysmal rate of console sales. Famitsu, however did have the X360 at 377k vs. VGChartz 372k. Not a huge difference, but a big one.

Now the next question: When does the 360 hit the Xbox's entire LTD in Japan? IMO, it should hit it around September. Trusty Bell should give it 50k more sales, putting it somewhere near 450k in June. By september, it should easily outsell the Xbox's LTD of somewhere around 500k.

 Opinions? Thoughts? Please don't turn this into a 360 vs. Wii vs. PS3 thread. As a mod, I will not be happy! Lets keep it positive, and 360-sales focused.

Why is Dead or Alive Extreme above Gears? Just depressing... other than that interesting numbers.

DOAX2 above Gears just shows how different the Japanese market is from the US, and why the 360 doesn't sell well. Just imagine if the 360 had about 10 more titles that were in the 40k+ range...It'd of sold a ton more systems. The noticable thing with the 360 is that EVERY time a semi-decent game comes out (CoD3, AC4, IdolMaster, ect, ect, ect) sales goes up. Every time a really good game (N3, BD, LP, DR, ect) comes out, sales really increase by leaps and bounds (compared to the suck-fest 1,000 to 1,500 units typical).

N3 was crappy, but it's the kind of game that sells there, so is DOAX2

Is the 360 any good?? I mean Ive been playing my wii off and on.just waiting for new games to come out...the PS3 collecting dust, i occasionaly play motorstorm but thinkin bout getting rid of it and getting a 360. My wife likes the visuals Gears of war.anyone play it? any other hot actin rpg's for the 360???

Gears of War was excellent. I piched in nearly $300 for my bros xmas present to get one just so I could play this game. Beyond that, sport games are sport games, FPS's galore and then some really nice exclusive Japan stylized games.

 haha, you expect the 360 to sell double what it's sold since launch (18 months) in the next 7 months??? You realize the 360 has to start averaging 25,000 units a week to do this right?

i believe the xbox 360 will get a million in japan by the end of 2008, which is not impossible. As long as Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon 2, and 3 do great, it will get that million.

 Call me biased (lol, look at my sig) but yes it is. The 360 has some awesome experiences you wont find on any other system to date. Dead rising, gears of war, Rainbow six are all games that I like on my 360. Lost planet, crackdown, table tennis and a few others are decent and may appeal to you. Xbla games only help to pass the time even more. THe premium comes with hexic and you should probably buy geometry wars and boom boom rocket right out the gate. If it is up your ally there are many other XBLA titles that warrant some play time if not a purchase. The 360 is also getting quite a few impressive exclusives, such as fable 2, halo 3, ninja gaiden 2 (I guess) and alan wake. Newer videos of action RPGs, such as two human, mass effect and bioshock look like instant winners and if your into more traditional RPGs, trusty bell, lost odessy and blue dragon should keep you going for a while as well.

As far as I am concerned across all three systems the selection is going to be awesome from this year leading into next year.
