Forums - Gaming Discussion - No "Left 4 Dead" Planned for PS3 appearantly.

August 4, 2008 - While there have been rumors circulating the Internet that claim that Left 4 Dead, Valve's upcoming zombie-filled shooter for the PC and 360, would be coming to the PS3, it looks like there's no truth behind them. We contacted Doug Lombardi from Valve to comment on the rumor and his response was clear: "there is no PS3 version of Left 4 Dead currently in production."

It appears that PS3 owners are out of luck -- at least for now.

Isn't it in the middle of a porting process, done by EA? it's not done yet, so why would it be in production?

EA is the one who has the final say (they are EA after all), but Valve is a pretty trustworthy source.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

lol @ you. what part of the OP don't you understand?

The word "production" puzzles me, I can't really undersand what Lombardi means.

Production here isn't meant as going down the assembly line, it's meant as no developers are currently working on it.

Uh, I'd say Valve has the final say, since it's their game, their property.

Maybe agreements are being made and EA jumped the gun saying they're making it when the deal hasn't been closed yet?  I dunno.  I think it's highly likely L4D will make its way to the PS3 eventually, but perhaps not on time.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

well if it after the 360 assuming that this port even happens then they are by sony contract to make the game better on the ps3 according to some thread on here the other day
