Sonic and the Black Knight outdid it week 2 and people say it is a mediocre game. Hell Penguin Club almost sold more its second week and I saw no one hyping it up (Don't give me no BS handheld or different genre). Madworld may sell more second week in EU if it wasn't released in some areas but it isn't going to be amazing. Legs might take it to a mil if they do in fact last but this should be a 2mil+ seller just because the catchy name and violence. In all truth I'm jealouse that this only came out for the Wii. Most places near me didnt even get the game until the 14th. I wonder how many other areas didnt have this game at all for the 13th. Anyway I knew sales of this game would be lower than most expected. When I went looking for Hotd last month I was told be 3 different Gamestops that if I wanted a PS3 or Wii game it was best to preorder because they only get 2-3 copies beyond the preorder amount. I did Preorder Madworld and it was the last copy in the store when I finally had the time to go by and pick it up. Message | Report |

I would love for this game to hit a million but these sales are lower than I expected and I thought I under estimated :( Come on people, spread the word and show all your friends some of this game. This game will do nothing in Japan either. This isn't a Suda51 game so 500,000 LTD copies won't be successful enough for Sega. The advertising had to cost a pretty penny as well, especially on highly viewed stations. The only reason I knew VC existed even was because of internet which = free advertisement from fans. Tell me I'm wrong (I don't care). I live in the real world where great movies can sell like shit but movies like Twilight could sell millions and millions. Same thing goes for games. I wanted KZ2 to sell 1mil+ EU alone first week but it failed. The Halo killer didn't even kill Resistance. It will sell more than Resistance 2 but legs can only get you so far. Basically people want to think Forza will outsell GT5. LBP will outsell Mario. GTA on DS will outsell GTA on PS360. We all now the true facts but we ignore and turn a blind eye. Message | Report |

@MontanaHatchet I respect you and all but this comment really wasn't toward you. I just laugh at all the over predictions made as I knew it would never sale these numbers. I would have loved to be proved wrong but I heard more bashing of this game outside of VGchartz (The real world) than praising. I'm sorry but even if this game does sell more than VC for PS3 I still think it is a fail. Extremely more niche genre of JRPG with 0 advertising in US and smallest userbase. Niche art style mixed with violence(Which Sells) and just as many commercials as Street Fighter IV or RE5 on TV + highest userbase. I honestly think 1st week sales are fail. My opinion it may be to some of you but that isn't good at all. Flame me all you want but Sega better be praying for some legs cause it is the only thing that can save it. Nanaki, Valkyria Chronicles has been out for months (even over a year in Japan if memory serves). MadWorld has been out for one week, and it's already sold about 60k in America for Valkria's 110k in America. I don't know where this sales dispute started, but it needs to stop. Another thing you have to look at is how many each retail store had. IN my area most Gamestops got 2-3 copies of the game. When I went to get my preorder it was the only copy in the store. Also how is 50k in one week bad? If it keeps those sales up that is 200k for a month. Message | Report |

Just beat the game and unlocked the katana, double chainsaw, and hard mode :) Trust me the game is worth getting regardless of how long it takes you to beat the game. Hard mode will keep you busy for awhile as well and the levels are fun as hell. I can't believe this game isn't selling more, it deserves a lot more attention and sales. I really hope word of mouth helps get this game to gamers who don't read online sites etc... Remember to write Platinum Games after beating the game to let them know what you liked and didn't like as well as what you want to see in the SEQUEL! Hopefully enough people buy this one and we get a trilogy out of this happy Message | Report |

MadWorld was a shoe-in for this category. Not only is it the most uniquely-presented game on the Wii, it's one of the most uniquely-presented games on any system right now. Its stark black and white visual style was a hell of a lot harder to achieve than you'd imagine – making sure the environment and objects were always readable and distinct for the player, and making sure that the world always looks interesting in black and white is no mean feat. Seriously, you think that because a game is hyped on a geek site that it will sell 500 k first weak. Give me a break!! I was just reading yesterday someone beting that it would do 1 million first week. But whatever, the paterne always stay the same... Some predict completly innacurate prevision without taking in consideration any factors but their prayers and create a genreral expectation. After that come all the haters and fanboys smiling and screaming wii is casual or third party don't sell. Get real for jes'sake. I already prepared myself for disappointing sales since awesome games from small developers like Clover or Platinum Games never sell well. Its ashame since this game deserves well over a million sales. I am happy that it is showing up in the list of Best Sellers at ebgames.com. I would strongly suggest everyone show their friends about this game and encourage them to support this quality title. Also don't forget to write Platinum games and let them know what you liked/disliked and what you want to see in the sequel!! Message | Report |

This game deserves a million sales but I am tired of being optimistic for the Wii owners. Realistically this game will get around 500k max and that is disappointing since it deserves much more. I personally took my time with the game and it took me around 6 hours to beat the game. It also depends if you have it on the unlockable HARD mode. I don't think it is repetitive since the levels and bosses are so varied. But everyone has their opinion, I just wish more people would buy the game and then form one ;) Message | Report |

2 days about 9 levels into the game and I can confirm that this game is Sweet and worthy of purchase. The boss fights are really the strongest gameplay part for me and there are a lot of them ;) Style and graphics are unbelievable and simply stunning. The detail that can be seen with two colors is remarkable! I really hope this game sells well cause Platinum Games is simply amazing and I would love to see more. Many people disregard the ability that they have to help a game sell. Remember that many wii owners do not read gaming sites or know about many new games. So we all can make a difference and help the Wii game library become more diversified by spreading the word about new and quality games like MadWorld. Please tell everyone you know about this game. We need to get the word out about this quality game. If this sells well then Platinum Games said they'll release sequels and other hardcore games on the Wii. I personally am getting 3 copies of this game and giving 2 to my friends. This is one of the pivotal games in the wii library that will show publishers and investors that there is a hardcore market on the Wii and we are hungry! This title it being produced by Platinum games who are made up of ex devs from many well known studios. The main one being 'Clover Studios' who produced amazing titles like Okami, Viewtiful Joe, and also worked with Capcom on Resident Evil 4, among other titles as well. So these guys KNOW what they are doing! The devs decided to use a black and white design that is inspired by american comic books. They did this because the game is all about brutality and they felt having blood red be the only color, helped emphasize this aspect. If you watch the game in motion, you will be blown away at how stylized and amazing it looks. The game is a 3-D brawler type similar to Final Fight or Double Dragon and story is about a Death Match sport (similar to Running Man). The main character, Jack, has a chainsaw on one of his arms and can deal out deadly linkable combos and moves. Another big part of the combat is being able to use the environment. One example, is ramming a sign post through your opponents head which then allows you to do a variety of other moves (like throwing them into a wall of spikes). Throw in some great voice acting like Greg Propes, John DiMaggio, and Steve Blum. Along with some solid controls that do not overuse the motion and this game looks absolutely fantastic. Finally the team has already said that there will be sequels in the works if this game sells well! Message | Report |

I must say this game is getting some pretty good advertising through Gamestop and it's affiliates. Lot's of advertisments for it around the stores, in Game Informer, among other things. This game looks very good. I was afraid there would be no advertising for it (as much as most Wii hardcore games get, while Halo got a Mountain Dew flavor I never ONCE saw a single commercial for NMH/ CoD/MoH or Metroid 3), but I at least see a huge poster at my local Gamestops for it along with the other games for pre-order. Why doesn't wii have ANY commercials for games outside of the "wiisports/fit/play" games? Honestly, I DONT see them not even during the Holidays. I saw a Mario Kart one once, but why don't these games get adverts? There are trailers online for games, do they ever reach anyone not sitting at a computer? Message | Report |
