March 2026 is the 65th month the PlayStation 5 has been available for. In the latest month, the gap grew in favor of the PlayStation 4 when compared to the aligned launch of the PlayStation 5 by 0.08 million units.

In the last 12 months, the PS4 has outsold the PS5 by 0.32 million units. The PS4 is currently ahead of the PS5 by 2.80 million units.

The PS5 has sold 92.08 million units in 65 months, while the PS4 sold 94.89 million units. Month 65 for the PS5 is March 2026 and for the PS4 is March 2019.

The PS4 crossed 95 million in month 66, 100 million in month 72, and 105 million in month 74. The PS4 sold 117.20 million units lifetime. The PS5 is 25.12 million units behind lifetime PS4 sales.

The company has now increased the price of refurbished PS5 consoles on the PlayStation Direct website. The refurbished PS5 Digital Edition increased from $400 to $500, while the PS5 with a disc drive increased from $450 to $550. 

This price increase was likely done in order to keep the price of refurbished PS5 consoles $100 below the price of a new console. However, there is a refurbished original PS5 model with a disc drive available for $400.

Gurei is a highly-challenging action game created by Lobo Sagaz Studio. Drawing inspiration from classic Japanese samurai films (“chanbara”), Gurei features a gorgeous hand-drawn art style with fluid animations. With its carefully-designed combat system, a wealth of attack moves obtainable throughout the gameplay, and snappy, responsive controls, players are guaranteed to enjoy the satisfying action gameplay experience that Gurei offers.

Setting

Rei, the main character, is a human spirit bound with the challenging duty of defeating mystical entities of nature, the Kami, to obtain their power. The game won’t hold the player’s hand, leaving it up to them to discover and conquer this fantastic hand-drawn world that is gray, both metaphorically and literally.

Dynamic Difficulty

You are free to pick your fights against the Kami in any order. The game features a dynamic difficulty system where each enemy strength is defined by the player’s chosen path. This means that the very same Kami fought at the very beginning could also be the final boss in a different route. Hope to never leave the one you struggle most to fight last!

Combat Features

Besides sword attacks, dodges, head stomps and other basic abilities, Rei will learn a completely new skill for each defeated Kami. Those will provide further depth to your combat arsenal, be it a stronger dash, a weapon that can execute enemies, the ability to heal and many more!

Player choice is the ultimate power. Taking into account the vastly distinct enemies’ patterns and unique skills granted upon each victory, you will be able to decide how to approach every challenge. It won’t be easy either way, but you can always go back and try something different.

Beyond the Brawl

Gurei is a game about fighting strong enemies, but that’s not all. The Kami inhabit a surreal castle located between the human and spirit worlds. After each victory, Rei comes closer to the realm of spirits, starting to encounter peculiar characters from Japanese mythology. These creatures will add novelty and strangeness to your journey, providing commentary, unique animations, side objectives and obscure secrets.

Unlikely “Friends”

You will get to know the different Kami quite well. When Rei defeats them, she absorbs their power—and their personality. The defeated Kami will be carried around wherever Rei goes, and they’ll surely have stuff to talk about. Sometimes their remarks will be useful information that builds the player’s understanding of the lore and the game mechanics, but sometimes they will be… not so helpful, to put it briefly. Initially released as collaboration downloadable content for Dead or Alive 6 in 2019, the alluring ninja Mai Shiranui and Ice Doll Kula Diamonds return in Dead or Alive 6 Last Round. Both characters will be released as downloadable content at the game’s release alongside a costume set that includes five stylish outfits.

Players can also look forward to bringing the fight to the newly enhanced “Lost Paradise (Oboro)” stage. “Oboro” is a new lighting system introduced to the Katana Engine, offering more realistic illumination created by natural ambient light and shadows. Free “Oboro” versions of other stages will be added to the game as they become available.

Dead or Alive 6 Last Round is the definitive version of Dead or Alive 6 which originally released in 2019 and shipped over 900,000 copies worldwide. The game has been optimized for the latest hardware and includes the original 24 characters alongside five characters from the game’s downloadable content lineup (Nyotengu, Phase 4, Momiji, Rachel, and Tamaki). In addition, popular characters such as Kasumi and Marie Rose will receive five costumes inspired by other Team NINJA titles. In the free-to-play Dead or Alive 6 Last Round Core Fighters edition, Marie Rose, Honoka, and NiCO will be available for use from launch. Assassin's Creed Shadows came in second place, followed by EA Sports FC 26 in third place and Battlefield 6 in fourth place.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was the fifth best-selling game at retail despite not getting an official release in the country. The reported sales are from grey imports and demand remained strong through the year due to its critical acclaim.

Elden Ring Nightreign came in sixth place and Mafia: The Old Country took seventh place.

Cricket 26 was the eighth best-selling game, however, sales were lower than Cricket 24 by about 15 to 20 percent. Sources stated a lack of marketing and more options hurt sales.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A came in ninth place with the majority of sales on the Nintendo Switch 1. This is with Nintendo not having official presence in India yet.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl rounds out the top 10 with sales exceeding expectations on PS5, according to multiple store owners.

Docking Improvements

• Docked play defaults to the TV display

When you dock your ROG Xbox Ally or Xbox Ally X, your gameplay now moves to the TV and the handheld display automatically turns off. This delivers the best possible big-screen experience – optimizing resolution, refresh rate, and HDR output.

• Automatic gaming enhancements on smart TVs

When you dock your ROG Xbox Ally or Xbox Ally X, modern smart TVs from Samsung, LG, and Vizio automatically enable built-in gaming features like Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Auto Game Mode (Samsung) or Game/PC Mode (Vizio) for low-latency, high-quality visuals. In collaboration with ASUS, the ROG Bulwark Dock and the ROG 100W Charger Dock support HDR10, with the ROG Bulwark Dock also unlocking Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) for even smoother, more responsive gameplay. These features are available today, and we’ll extend support to additional Designed for Xbox docks over time.

• Display Widget in Game Bar

When docked, you can quickly adjust key display settings directly from Game Bar using a controller. The new Display Widget brings essential controls like display resolution, refresh rate, and projection mode into one streamlined, console-style experience so you don’t have to leave your game or navigate Windows Settings. It only shows options that work with your TV and setup, making it easy to fine-tune visuals and stay focused on playing.

• Improved controller pairing for docked play

When you pair an Xbox or Designed for Xbox controller, the built-in controls on your docked Xbox Ally are automatically disabled and your paired controller puts you in control. This streamlines the experience and unlocks docked play for a wider range of games, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Additional controllers are recognized in-game for multiplayer and couch co-op, and switching back to handheld play is easy: just disconnect your paired controller. For the smoothest experience, pair your controller before docking.

• Gamepad Cursor

Gamepad Cursor makes it possible to navigate experiences that don’t otherwise support controller input, like web browsers, music streaming apps and third-party PC gaming storefronts. This feature is now rolling out to all Windows 11 PCs via Game Bar update.

Auto Super Resolution Preview

We previously introduced Automatic Super Resolution (Auto SR), designed to make games look sharper and play smoother, and shared that it would be coming to the ROG Xbox Ally X. Starting today, Auto SR is available in preview for Xbox Insiders on the ROG Xbox Ally X, to help us test and refine the experience.

For years, players have had to choose between visual quality and performance: turn up resolution and framerate drops or dial it back and the image suffers. When docked and connected to an external display, Auto SR changes that equation, delivering 1440p-like detail alongside smooth framerates on larger screens, where every pixel counts. As part of this preview, we’ve also added Game Bar integration, letting Xbox Insiders easily control when Auto SR is applied to their games.

Super Wideband Stereo Voice

In December, we released an update for the Xbox Wireless Headset that added support for Bluetooth LE Audio. When connected to a Windows 11 device with LE Audio support, like the Xbox Ally, you benefit from lower audio latency and improved battery life.

Now, Bluetooth LE Audio on the Xbox Ally handhelds streams in super wideband stereo voice fidelity. For the first time with a Bluetooth connection, you can stay immersed in your game and hear high-fidelity stereo audio even when using the microphone for party chat.

Super wideband stereo voice is available when connected to headsets, earbuds or hearing aids that support Bluetooth LE Audio, including the Xbox Wireless Headset. Make sure your Xbox Wireless Headset is updated to enable LE Audio support.

Enhanced Vibration

Enhanced Vibration provides a fuller, more refined haptic experience that better matches what you expect across Xbox devices. With enhanced vibration, in-game haptic effects feel richer and smoother.

Bring Games from Other PC Storefronts Together in One Library

We recently refreshed the Xbox PC app so that your library experience brings together installed games from across PC storefronts in one place.

Rolling out this month, you can now add, remove, edit, and launch any installed game or app directly from the Xbox experience – including games from other PC gaming storefronts and launchers. Using the new “+” button in the library, you can now add custom games and apps directly. Once added, these games and apps launch directly from your library and can be personalized by editing names, images, launch targets, and command-line options. Removing them from the library doesn’t affect the original game or app.  

Additional Improvements

Based on player feedback, we’ve made several other updates to the ROG Xbox Ally experience. You can see the complete list of updates in the patch notes.

Handheld Compatible, Default Game Profile and Advanced Shader Delivery Titles

Over the last six months, our teams and development partners have been focused on making more games look, play, and feel great on Windows 11 handheld devices. To date, we’ve ensured that more than 1000 PC games immediately play great on handheld through our Handheld Compatibility program.

We also introduced Default Game Profiles late last year, which makes it easy to play supported games at optimal settings and performance when playing unplugged and on the go. And with Advanced Shader Delivery, supported games download precompiled shaders so they launch faster and run smoother the first time you play. Both Default Game Profiles and Advanced Shader Delivery are currently supported on both ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X.

Today, many popular games support all three features, including Ninja Gaiden 4, Grounded 2, High on Life 2, The Outer Worlds 2, Ark: Survival Ascended, Monster Hunter Rise, Gears of War: Reloaded and more. We’ll add support for these features to even more existing and upcoming games, including Forza Horizon 6, coming to Xbox and PC on May 19, with early access through the Premium Edition or Premium Upgrade bundle allowing you to play up to four days early.

Cooldown Games will operate as an independent publishing division under People Can Fly. The current leadership team at Cooldown Games will remain in place to lead the division.

"Although we are strongly focused on the work-for-hire segment to achieve positive cash flows across the Group, we have never intended to abandon our publishing plans," said People Can Fly Group CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski.

"Rather, we have been waiting for the right moment for them to regain traction and scale. While this is happening somewhat earlier than we originally anticipated, it is based on two key pillars: the trust in the Cooldown Games team built over the years, and an approach in which the publishing segment is intended to be revenue-generating from the outset, rather than cost-intensive."

Story

Once upon a time, the founder of alchemy led people from a dying world to a new land. In this fertile and harmonious land where man-made “Gods of Creation” act as guardians, humans lead a peaceful existence.

However, a long time has since passed, and the “Dust” of death began to engulf Arcaus. Gods gone mad become heinous “Gods of Misfortune” and begin to devour the world, and ash demons born of dust bare its fangs at the living. Like burnt pieces of paper and worm-eaten clothes, the world finds itself in an era where the earth was being eroded by the ashes.

The people were not entirely unprepared, however. Alchemists who wished to carry on the miracles brought upon by its founder gather at the Cagliostro Academy, a school boasting the highest levels of wisdom.

Among them is another—a young alchemist who knocks on the doors of the academy with aspirations in mind.

This gives the alchemists additional blessings of various skills. As you explore Arcaus, you can build trusting relationships with various gods to help your allies get stronger.

The Philosopher’s Stone and Corruption From the Dust Will Determine Your Fate

With the Pholosopher’s Stone in his body, the protagonist is able to convert dust and ash into energy. However, the more he uses his powers, the more contamination accumulates his body. And if left unchecked, the contamination will eventually become a disaster that could change the fate of the protagonist.

Band Together Against the Dust

Fend off demons of evil that are trying to turn the world into one of nothing but emptiness and dust!

• Ash Demon – A demon that was reborn as a monster after having been decomposed by the Dust.
• Heinous God – A being that was a guardian of the world, but has been contaminated by the Dust.
• Skill-Based Turn Battles – Battles are turn-based, with a maximum of a party of five battling another party of five. You must use individual skills of each character wisely to win the battles.

Contract with the Gods

Proceed through the story and overcome the trials to obtain the crests, a proof that you have made your contract with the gods!

• Crest – A proof of the contract between you and the gods, the world’s guardians. Their powers reside in crystals known as crests.
• Gods With Unique Characteristics and Personalities – The gods you make contract with will vary in appearance and ability. You will be able to make contracts with many different gods as you travel around the continent.
• Quest Field – Quests take you to a field comprised of a turn-based movement system. Depending on the points, you may run into monsters and/or be able to obtain items.

Equipping Crests

Make sure to arm your character with crests to draw upon the blessings of the gods!

• Blessings of the Gods – Armor unique to alchemists, known as ether gear, can be equipped with crests from the gods. Status increases to the character and inherited unique abilities will depend on the characteristics of each god. Blessings from the gods will also change value attributes that have an effect in combat.
• Ability – Something that is granted by a crest, or a part of a character’s individual features. This is what is automatically activated at the start of a battle.

Synthesizing

Work together with your heroine to create items from alchemy!

• Synthesis System – Alchemy items that can support you in battle and while you are exploring. Alchemy items can be used to create quest items required to progress in the storyline.

• Poker System – Collect five skill cards to form poker-style hands. Stronger combinations result in stronger effects, changing the course of the battle with different attacks and tactics. What cards do you hold onto? What hands will you aim for? Your choices will determine victory or defeat.
• Repentance System – Confess the sins you have shouldered in your death battles and transform them into power. Alice will take on the sins of the wayward souls she defeats along the way. The tears of penitence will become power-up items for you to use.

She has lost all her memories from before and after her death. She throws herself into battle to reach the place she longs for. She shows no interest in anyone else and never displays affection toward others—except for Mary, perhaps… is her memory loss a blessing? Or a curse?
• Mary (voiced by Sekine Hitomi) – An innocent, naive girl who wandered into Wonderland. She is not a Death Game participant, but rather an uninvited guest. She joins the battle in hopes of seeing her friend again. Having enjoyed the occult and urban legends during her time alive, she now finds herself delighting in the afterlife. However, there is something she has forgotten. It is the greatest sin of her past… a single lie.
• Mad (voiced by Ojika Nao) – A kind and gentle girl who was summoned to Wonderland. One of the participants of the Death Game held in Wonderland.Her reason for joining the fight is to “go to heaven.” Before her own death, she believed that death was a form of salvation—and that belief remains unchanged, even after arriving in the afterlife known as Wonderland. As such, despite her normally gentle demeanor, she hunts down souls without hesitation. She does not consider this a sin. She merely wishes to save them.
• March (voiced by Yurina Amami) – A timid girl who was summoned to Wonderland. One of the participants of the Death Game held in Wonderland. She has no intention of joining the battle, however, and works as a hostess at the tea party. She lacks assertiveness and often finds herself at the mercy of the other stronger-willed participants. As a participant, March presumably has a reason for wanting to join the battle, but she remains stubbornly tight-lipped on the matter. She claims it is because she does not deserve to have her wish granted…
• White Rabbit (voiced by Sasahara Yu) – A curious young girl who was summoned to Wonderland. One of the participants of the Death Game held in Wonderland. She joins the battle in hopes of seeing her friend again. Having enjoyed the occult and urban legends during her time alive, she now finds herself delighting in the afterlife. Welcome to Lemuria, a vibrant island world under the not-so-chill rule of the witch Raneny, who has decided because apparently dictatorship wasn’t enough, to throw a concert featuring the island’s greatest artists in her own honor.

Enter Kalakely, a small and fluffy Kalanoro from Malagasy folklore, and a slightly unwilling hero chosen by a very questionable prophecy to save the day.

Armed with mystical powers (and some surprisingly effective household items), Kalakely sets off on a wild journey across Lemuria to recruit legendary musicians, build a band, and overthrow tyranny… one gig at a time.

In Kalanoro, you’ll bounce from platforming to combat to band-building as you embark on an unexpected musical roadtrip designed to deliver pure good vibes.

You’ll make your way through lively biomes, jump over industrial traps, and push through handcrafted levels built around movement, hazards, and momentum. Along the way, you’ll fight with hair-powered abilities and whatever happens to be within reach—slippers and frying pans included. Boss encounters are built on that same spirit, leaning into the groovier, more theatrical side of Kalanoro‘s joyful chaos. As you progress, you’ll unlock new abilities, refine your playstyle, and embrace the game’s signature mix of “joyful chaos” and creative freedom.

A Musical Roadtrip Like No Other

But fighting is only half the adventure. As you travel across Lemuria, you’ll rescue eccentric lemur artists to grow the band and its popularity one stop at a time.

You’ll keep the crew rolling aboard a rusty old taxi-brousse that serves as both home base and tour bus. Between major beats, you will need to bond with your new companions through mini-games, manage the band’s happiness, and build toward your next big performance.

The more the band grows, the more the journey starts to feel like what Kalanoro really is at heart: a feel-good rebellion powered by collective energy, creativity, and one killer setlist.

That musical journey is brought to life by a soundtrack featuring incredible Malagasy artists such as Denise, Jyeuhair, and Marco Klarck, who embraced the project with real generosity and helped shape its spirit.

At its heart, Kalanoro is a vibrant tribute to Malagasy folklore, music, and artistic culture. Set in a colorful fictional world, the game blends traditional influences with a playful, modern tone, brought to life through colorful hand-drawn visuals and dynamic animation powered by Unreal Engine.

"Xbox earnings today," said Sharma. "While we have made progress expanding the business and our margins, player and revenue growth has not yet met our ambition. We know we have work to do to earn every player today and into the future."

Xbox gaming revenue for the quarter ending March 31, 2026 dropped 6.6 percent to $5.34 billion. Xbox content & services revenue decreased five percent, while Xbox hardware revenue fell 33 percent. 

Microsoft's forecast for the quarter ending June 30, 2026 expects Xbox content & services to decline in the low teens percent (-11% to -13%) against a prior year that benefitted from strong content performance, as well as the recent price changes in Xbox Game Pass. Xbox hardware is expected to decline.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella in an earnings call with investors stated the Xbox team is "recommitting to our core fans and players and shaping the future of play. Last week's Game Pass changes are one example of how we are staying responsive to customer feedback."

To clarify to fans the DRM check will only happen once in order to confirm a game's license.

"Players can continue to access and play their purchased games as usual," a PlayStation representative told Game File. "A one-time online check is required after purchase to confirm the game’s license, after which no further check-ins are needed."

The representative didn't go into details as to why it has been added, but people have speculated it was done to prevent hackers from using an exploit in PlayStation's refund system that lets players automatically claim a refund on digital game purchases if they are within 14 days of purchase.

A hacked PS4 console could be used to extract an indefinite license applied to games that were refunded, which let them own a game without having to pay.

This new 30 day timer added to newly purchased PS5 and PS4 digital games will be given an indefinite license after the 14 day period. This will block hackers from using the exploit.
