Sony's 8th generation home console the PlayStation 4 just hit its one yer anniversary in the US and Europe. The console quickly took a lead in the console race and has nearly sold more than Xbox One and Wii U combined.

Amazing accomplishment, now onto 20million!

Also, great to see adjustments that more accurately reflect the actual sales.

over 15m by now no doubt and surely 16.5 by end of November. 3M in Dec? Likely hit 19M sold by years end and 20M in January. Sony could announce almost 20M shipped during the PS event in Dec.

Yeah I think 14 million by the end of October, about 500K extra each normal week of November, with Black Friday probably having the system top a million for that week, so 16.5M by the end of this month, if not higher. I think 3.5-4 million isn't out of the question for next month, so 20M or over that by the end of 2014 could very well be on the cards.

As far as shipped totals by the end of the year, Sony were averaging 1.1M each month last year, averaging 1.4M a month over 15 months isn't out of the question IMO, so they could ship 21M, not like they won't need the numbers for the early months of next year if they happened to have a million units left on shelves come the 31st of December.

What's even more impressive are the "Rest of the World" numbers, about 1/3 of those, really impressive how Sony is investing just...everywhere!

IMO it had hit 14M by the end of last month, I think VGChartz are about a week behind, with the system already over 15M come the end of the week ending the 15th of November. By the end of the week of Black Friday PS4 should be over 16.5M, with the system topping 20M by the end of 2014.

ONly 700k behind Wii despite still being undertracked somewhat (100k+ in Germany alone) and despite no Japanese holiday season yet for PS4 compared to 1 in Wii's numbers

In a couple months we'll have to go over the numbers again, way to soon.
