Overlord is a third-person action-adventure game that takes place in a satirical fantasy world, filled with dark humour.  You play as the Overlord who has to rebuild the ruined tower of your predecessor and dominate the world.  You control a pack of small, humanoid creatures called Minions.  Minions assist you with some of the "heavy lifting"  throughout the game.  Things like puzzles, combat, and collecting relics that increase your abilities or enhance your tower.   There are 4 types of Minions you will find in the world: brown, blue, red and green.  Each having its own unique talents.  As you play, the actions you take can affect your appearance and the world around you. 

You dominate the world by exploring and tracking down the 7 Heros that killed your predecessor.  You can find weapons, armour and spells during your adventure to assist this process.  Your minions can also become better by scavenging weapons and armour from defeated enemies.  There is a wide range of environments to see and enemies to kill.


Overlord also features online multiplayer with competitive and co-operative modes.  There is a free download from the Xbox Live Marketplace that allows for Split Screen playing of those modes.
