Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric exclusively for the Wii U system, is an original game developed by Southern California based studio Big Red Button Entertainment in collaboration with Sonic Team and its head Takashi Iizuka. Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric finds Sonic and his friends Tails, Knuckles, and Amy as they release a powerful snake-like villain named Lyric from an ancient tomb sealed deep within an island. The group must put aside their differences and work together as a team to save the world from Lyric’s evil plan and his army of war mongering robots!
Sonic Boom delivers totally different experiences than previous Sonic games with collaborative gameplay at their core, all while featuring the traditional element of Sonic and his adventures – SPEED. Taking advantage of the innovative hardware of the Wii U, Sonic Boom introduces exploration, combat and a new Enerbeam gadget that allows the Sonic Boom world to be discovered in totally unique ways.

I find funny/tragic that this game has managed to beat in sales: Batman AO, AC Black Flag, Game & Wario, Injustice, Darksiders II, Watch Dogs, Fatal Frame (maybe not this one if we count digital) and a couple of Lego games. Message | Report |

In my personal opinion, Sonic 06 was better. Message | Report |

@Paatar - More technical polish would have made the game a little better received critically, but its not hated because it deviates from traditional Sonic games. Its just mediocre game and the technical problems just pile on an already flawed game. Message | Report |

If it was a new IP, wasn't glitched at launch, had good framrate, better textures and etc it wouldn't be considered a bad game. But since it deviates from Sonic and had so many glitches (before update) framerate issues and etc it was considered a bad game. The gameplay itself is pretty fun. I actually like it. Sure it isn't great but it isn't godawful. Message | Report |

It's not a great game no, but it's not all that bad either. I've been enjoying it! Message | Report |
