Dante's Inferno (X360) > Opinions (33)

Very underrated game. It's pretty sad that it didn't get a sequel.

I played this after I played God of War 3, and while similar, Dante's Inferno was even better, especially when it comes to atmosphere.

Oh hell no, this is awful compared to God of War and mediocre compared to everything else. For people who have a Xbox 360 and want something like God of War get Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, that game is absolutely fantastic! You'll probably enjoy Dante's Inferno if you play it before playing a God of War game, otherwise it just feels like a really mediocre copy, I still want an improved sequel though because I love the genre.

Almost as good as God of War IMO. Needs better sales.

I think nearly 2mil in sales is hardly poor. The biggest complaint ive seen about this game is its too much like god of war, and if critics dont like that, shame on them

Enjoy this game, but it got poor reviews and even poorer sales. Shame.

Its still selling quite well, should hit 1 mil on both systems next year

Look at what happened to too Human...
I don't think there will be a sequel, unless its an arcade version lol

this game probably would have made some money by now if they didn't buy that super bowl ad lol

@ Pugs

game played fine to me. Actually reminds me too much of the old GoW.

This game will do fine. Both versions are nearly 500,000 a piece. That is not bad for a new IP. I'm sure they will green light a sequel. BTW I really loved this game!.

@ Product
Feels like more money went into advertising than the actual game. I think it'll be profitable in the long run.

This game really bit EA in the butt. A lot of money was raiding on this game especially after the costly marketing.

After finally playing the 1st God of War game, I can safely say that Dante's Inferno is the better game.
Now going to play GoW 2 and 3.

@ richardhutnik
Frankly, I don't care if its a rip off of God of War. My problem is the game itself sucks. The story was solid, but the game as a whole feels uninspired.

richardhutnik posted 13/03/2010, 06:46
Why did this game do miserable? How about when you rip off God of War in ways that isn't good, instead of doing something unique that fits the source material better? No amount of reskinning of God of War, with no matter how cool a game story, will fix this.

For me, Dante's Inferno is a sign of what is wrong with the videogame industry.

Safe to say this failed. Threw out all the stops with a Superbowl Ad, all for nothing.

Disappointing sales overall!!! I don't understand why sales are so dismal despite a MASSIVE campaign? The game is well polished and gfx are beautiful. X360 fans should pick this up as it is as close as they'll get to to GOW!!!

This is a really cool game and I guess 44,000 isn't bad for 2 days sales. If you are on the fence on this game, I play alot of this genre, Ninja Gaiden, GOW, Bayonetta, DMC, all of them and Dantes Inferno is very fun, nice combat, and very atmospheric.

Played it at my brothers house and we think it's great.

Can't wait to get my hands on GoW 3 next.

Underwhelming sales in Others. But that's pretty much to be expected for a hack n' slash.

so think before saying

Rawnchie14 posted 07/02/2010, 10:16
We all know PS3 owners spend more time tracking games than 360 owners do. All that time w/o games and all those announcements back in 2008, understandable.

The VGC wishlist numbers is not that exact. In fact, there are more sony fansboy in VGC. The owners of DragonAge PS3 version in VGC are more than the X360 and PC version, while according to official data in forums, the PC sale equals the console version.

binary solo posted 29/01/2010, 03:35
based on the VGC wishlist numbers I'm picking the PS3 version is going to sell better (well that and the America pre-orders chart). Or do you think the wishlist difference is mostly a reflection of the proportion of 360 and PS3 members on VGC?

I am so excited about Dante's Inferno!

With hell as the setting, there's such potential to make a scary, disgusting and nerve wrecking atmosphere for this game.
