Just finished ps2 Tales of Abyss before starting this. The nunchuck works extremely well for an active battle system like TOS here.. storyline not so much...so I guess it about evens out.

I still don't understand why it isn't tracked in Europe.
I mean Tales of Vesperia is tracked. And even MagnaCarta 2 and Persona 4 (which sold pretty low there) are/were tracked.
ToS2 sales can't be that bad...

Emil is not an "dislikable". It is refreshing to have such an other kind of hero in an JRPG. He is much more believeable than Lloyd.

c0rd posted 29/11/2009, 10:47
So, I finally finished the game via Youtube since I didn't have the patience to play through it.

The game does get better later on. Still, it's a huge mistake to have such a dislikable character right off the bat. I hope I never have to deal with an "Emil-like" main character again.

Also, it sucks this had to be a budget title. It reminded me how awesome the original ToS was, I love the characters... too bad nearly all their voices had to change here. Thankfully Collette didn't change, I couldn't imagine her with a different voice!

I actually bought this game and sold it pretty much right after, without playing it. I was a huge fan of ToS on Gamecube, but the reviews, and the fact that it's a spinoff just completely killed all hype I had for this game. Now I kinda regret selling it.. Maybe I'll wait till it's really cheap and I'll pick it up again.

Finally got this game and have to admit that it was very hard to find this game in retail stores. I went to 3 different gamestops and finally found it at the last one. I normally buy games online but wanted to see what the game stores were like around my house. It seems like many good games are not getting good shelf space.

I think I overheard the gamestop guy mention ordering more ToS after I bought my copy. Oh and I have only played the game for an hour but it seems really solid. The beginning is kinda slow but most RPGs have a slow beginning. This should consume my attention until the next round of games come out ;)
