@Kerotan the money isn't a waste since the DLC might make the consumer choose the Xbox version since it comes there first. But like Ryng said this version might still be overtracked.

Darkenergy the ps3 and ps4 versions are still beasting it even after adjustments. And according to npd the xbox one version on here is more overtracked than the ps4. The reality is that the money spent buying dlc is a waste and they'd be better off spending it making new exclusive games.

@itechheads maybe because this game(along with other PS4 software) is overtracked according to Sony when they announced 81.8 million for PS4?

MASSIVE sales on the "2nd class" console. (Talking late-DLC here)
Imagine how much it would sell if DLC was released at the same time as the XB versions and if it also had bundles?

Impressive. 6 Million is amazing! The leaderboards only show about 5.4million though.

Pretty crazy. I believe GTAV can outsell it eventually though. It's only 300k behind and sold 90k more this week

Amazing sales, shame that COD will once again lead the top sellers list for a Playstation console for a bit longer, but oh well, GTA should hopefully eventually overtake it.

darkneal it has a big bundle on the X1. The last 3 CODS all sold better on 360 pre xmas and after it the PS3 version ratio improved enough and they eventually outsold the 360 versions. Next year the PS4 version will widen the gap and lifetime gap will be even bigger than it is already.

Overtracked by a lot... some like 500,000-600,000.

eh, black ops 3 will sell much better than the previous two games, probably close to black ops 2. hopefully activision notices gta 5's insane sales on the ps4 while being a remaster and partners with sony next year. sales will be insane.

The gap will only get wider. BTW VGchartz have over tracked the X1 and PS4 version by a massive amount in NA. Their sales are a lot closer to the last gen versions than thought. COD decline is real but will still do big numbers for many years.

@kerotan - 168000 catchup this week. Lets see next week as well eh? Xbox will beat PS in America. The only thing you know, is that you know nothing.

@darkneal closing real quick as in 20K this week (and that's with VGC over tracking the X1) and with SOny offering nothing but a destiny bundle and their regular SKU. Yeah that's some fast closing right there!

If SOny had the COD bundle instead of MS it would sell more on PS4 in the US and in the long run might do without them. But WW where it matters to a company AW is going to sell millions more on thr PS4 than the X1.

@Kerotan - As long as activision continue to sell more copies of COD in the U.S than Europe then they will see no reson to start supporting PS4 more. America is a market unto its own and it is most developers priority teritory. Even now with Sonys market advantage there, Microsoft shift more copies of COD...and that console gap is closing real quick there.

Wow ... This game is definitely going to hit 6 million by year's end and maybe even 7 million. COD is definitely not dying, it's here to stay for years to come ...

Kerotan posted 24/11/2014, 05:58
That will depend on sony caring enough to pay for that. if they decide no, then Acti will increase the price they charge MS for the deals they get.

Week 2 for this game and PS4 version way ahead as #1 and PS3 moved up to #2. Sony shipping COD in massive numbers. Years of MS advertising and exclusive DLC has done nothing.

Wonder is Activision will consider doing some PS4 exclusive bundles with the next release.
Given that the franchise now see's the bulk of it's sales on Sony platform's.

CoD may be on a downward trend, but the trends is not steep. CoD will be a 10 million seller (all versions) for years to come.

@Darkneal

Most 360 owners were ex PS2 owners, so what is your point?

darkneal posted 22/11/2014, 12:23
What is this superiority complex some PS owners have over Xbox? Most of PS4's owners are ex-360 owners but you just know its the old PS3 owners who are still moaning...even though they have the more popular machine now. And to top it all off COD is actually selling more on XBOX in America anyway...still. in the world 13million PS4 owners - 3million AW sales. 7 million ONE owners - 2million AW sales, week one! I still see Xbox as the more loyal fan base...

I would assume this is the best selling digital version at launch. Especially given the free digital upgrade offer.
