@Gingasaurus: Not to mention the great legs it had. In 2004 it sold 1.1 million copies, and was the 9th best selling game that year. Of course I think all the Halo 2 hype led to people wanting to check out what made the first game so good. Still, those are pretty good sales for being three years old. Message | Report |

To StarcraftManiac - EGM did not give Halo 3 a 100% score. If you actually read the review, the scores were 10, 10, and 9. The first and second games got all 10s though. So yeah, I don't think those ads helped. The game probably would have scored higher without all the advertising bonanza. The first game is the most legendary. Message | Report |

9.6 or 9.7 is such a small difference... The difference is only 0.1... So people CAN like Goldeneye more then Halo... And Halo's ad-spendings by Microsoft surely helped the score... *cough* EGM gives Halo 3 100% *cough*... But whatever, Timesplitters 2 is the better FPS in the 6th generation... For consoles. Overall it'd be Half Life 2... Followed by Timesplitters 2, Halo 1, Timesplitters: Future Perfect, Battlefield 2 and Halo 2. Message | Report |

I love the other people who point to golden eye and timesplitters thats a nice oppinion but critically speaking most would disagree! meta critic halo got a 97, timesplitters 2 got an 88 not sure if thats the game your referring to one other game had a 90 tops! Goldeneye 96 on metacritic! Half life 1 and 2 both got a 96 thats combined average of hundred of reviewers halo was higher then all of the games you all name! So shut up already! Message | Report |

also goldeneye was great for what i was 4 player split screen on an n64 but the hugh maps and sniping and 16 player system link frag parties go pinch yourself! What I find to be true is the guy who could kick all his friends butt loved golden eye more. I mean your competition is 3 other guys! you take your learned skillz to live and get smoked and now that game sucks! Message | Report |

timesplitter isnt that great no story! its not the same type game as metroid prime so I wouldnt compare it! and the PC version was fun MP anyway I still have 4 copies for the pc! I wouldnt do it again for h2 though not gonna add vista anytime soon! Message | Report |

Why is this down in 43rd place? Seriously, this place is all Nintendo Fanboys to the f***ing max. Sure, there are a lot of great games for Nintendo systems, but Halo definitely deserves better than a lot of the ones ahead of it. Definitely more so than MP and MP3 (which is in 10th place! counter strike is online multiplayer only original halflife no vehicles and way to linear like playing a track game halo 1 also sold over mill on pc too. large weapon variety cars tanks ghosts wide open spaces way less linear then half life. I loved both games but halo is the best console shooter ever.HALFLIFE 2 copied halo by adding vehicles and the driving in half life 2 sucked. So quit already comparing the 2 Message | Report |

lol...Comparing to the amount of First Person Shooter games to this day....Half Life/Counter Strike and Unreal Tournament are more fun to play than Halo. Halo IS an average FPS. Microsoft just spends ALOT ALOT OF MONEY and I mean ALOT on "advertisements for master chief". They are trying to suck as much people in the game, when there are better First person shooter games out there hehe :) The ones that say they love halo...are obviously Blind Folded :) --I have every single video game console since ColecoVision to date. Competed in plenty of tournaments especially first person games. But Halo lol is just a reg first person game. Message | Report |
