I didn't see Gears 2 winning many GOTY awards in 2008 so I doubt it would have compared very well in 2009 either, with perhaps even stronger competition. I found MGS4 and LBP better games in 2008. And many others found games such as Fallout 3 and L4D better games also and all of those games took home more GOTY awards overall. Gears of War is by far my favorite exclusive series to the 360 though. I just can't get over the online problems that continue to this day. It seems that Epic got my money and has no interest in helping me afterwards. Perhaps I'm just being sore because I can't play online, but I'll remember this in the future. The online was one of the main draws for me to this game because I played the shit out of Gears 1 online. That being said, Horde is fun to this day. I just wish I could play it online with splitscreen enabled. Despite the problems this game is still on my top 5 games of this gen. I won't lie, I love the over the top blood and gore. Without a chainsaw beyonet, I'm not sure how I would have felt about the series. lol Message | Report |

You haven't seen Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, Crysis and a few others have you Taco. It is the best looking game on the 360 to date though. And also the most fun imo. I wish the online was better but the campaign was really great. I love this game. Message | Report |

You mean like how on this very page it has Epic's previous numbers for Gears 1 of 4.7 million? Or when Microsoft announced 8.1 million copies of Halo 3 sold in January 08'? Or Konami announcing MGS 4 sold 4.3 million in November? You're right, companies always undermine their own success by announcing lower numbers! It's alright if the game is changed to a more accurate number. It won't be the end of the world. Other games need it too, games that aren't on the 360 so you can relax toastboy. It's over tracked for sure, but not by 600k. The current NPD LTD for Gears 2 in America is 2.3 million. The numbers on this site include Canada/Mexico so you probably have about 250k between those two which adds up to 2.55 mill overall. So it's over tracked by a good 300k at least, which after Epic's announcement that Gears just hit 4 million worldwide sounds about right. This, along with many other games on this site are over tracked (some are under tracked). But this game, Gears 1, LittleBigPlanet and others are noticeably over tracked and it's sad they are getting adjusted less and less as time goes on. Message | Report |

Wow, I just got into another round and it was absolutely broken. It made me shoot constantly until I ran out of bullets without me ever even pulling the trigger. It was laggy and would only ever stop "teleporting" me around when I magically appear in front of someone with a revved chainsaw. They really need to fix these issues. This is rediculous. I've never had such problems playing a big shooter before this this long after release. The campaign and horde modes are a blast but I've been dieing for some online but I just can't wait 30 minutes and hope the game isn't just a lag fest. Message | Report |

OkeyDokey, Gears of War got the award from the largest amount of sites (I believe), so it was Game of the Year. And it definitely deserved it more than Twilight Princess. I just don't think that a sequel coming only two years after its predecessor would win a game of the year when the last iteration did. It would just be unusual. 2006: Gears of War 2007: Super Mario Galaxy 2008: Gears of War 2 That would just be strange. Message | Report |

Don't know why ps3 owners should raid this game. It's not possible to raid a game like this. I got rid of my 360 and now just own a ps3 but for this game i will be moving into my friends house and playing gears 2 until i complete it. The 1st one one awesome; truly revolutionary and although this may not be a revolution in gaming, it will most definitely be awesome. I personally can't wait. Along with Killzone2, Resistance 2, Gears of war 2 will kick major ass and for those who spend too much time b******g and going about what console is better will deservedly lose out on this game. from what I've seen I only liked the destructible playgrounds all the gameplay vids sucked. So did the level called Assault it was so long and dragged out and looked to easy no challenge. Message | Report |

I just saw the game play trailer for Gears of War 2. For that level called Assault. And man was that awesome or what!? This is gonna be the best shooter of 2008. And has the potential to win GOTY. And people leaving votes for a game that's not even out isn't right especially the low votes. They should lock the voting meter until the game is released. Message | Report |
