You got to remember that Others is usually land-of-the-casual for Wii games. If those Others figures are correct I'd say amazing numbers. Most "core" 3rd party wii games sell awful in others and are saved from total fail by America. Message | Report |

Good 1st week in NA although I was expecting more from Others. Unless the supply was low but they should know to get good Wii games online by now. Absolutely love this game and it was able to pull me away from my BFBC2 addiction. Now I can't stop playing it and already dreaming of the sequel!! Message | Report |

@bmmb1 we'll see, actually I think too 70k seems high for it, but I'm confident in a drop smaller than 50% (55k) in the US...speaking of Europe probably it'll sell the same there, 7 full days and the same reasons I listened before should prevent it to sell less than 50k. @guiduc - it released on the same day as all other Wii games in EU, so regardless of the numbers next week, having sold "one day" would not be the reason. @Buzzi - if i had to chose between oni-link's and your numbers, I would go with his, as this is the type of game that, Wii or no Wii, is more front loaded. hmm...I expect it to be a bit undertracked in the Americas. It is litterally sold out in most areas and even amazon was out of this for a while. I'm still sticking with my 140K for it's FW sales and 160K for the month. I guess we will have to wait until NPD releases their numbers which VGC should be higher because it takes into account Canada, Mexico, and other retailers that NPD doesn't take into account. due to this we will probably get more RPG's especially the ones that have only came out in japan witch will help plus we'll probably see more commercial to other games that come out witch will help alot and maybe some 3rd party experiments like a fps or so but this game will probably at least open things up a little with a few more games........... it already outsold every monster hunter game in the usa on psp week 1, I never seen the ps2 sales though but I bet it beat the ps2 versions as well, it doubled psp's mh games total week 1 vs psp life time in america so capcom I know for sure is happy about this and in other countries the difference is even bigger and I wouldn't be surprised to see another jump because I couldn't find the controller pro deal and plus I got my copy at target witch was the last copy and again as far as I know this is the most success a mh game has had outside of japan.................. So what were the last word on NA pre orders for this game. I remember it was around 50-60k a couple weeks ago I think. So I am hoping for a strong 100 - 120k opening week. I wouldnt base the entire game off the demo. I played and loved the demo, hence i pre-oredered the game, but i hear there are all sorts of additional elements to the game that simply arent present in the demo. Crafting weapons and items, a bunch of more monsters, online play and the excluive types of quests available online, and of course all the other envorinments. Message | Report |

Amazon keeps "selling out" of the Bundle pre-orders. I dont know if that means anything, but perhap Amazon was set to buy a certain amount of copies, only to find that the preoreders are much stronger. Oh, and MOnster Hunter 3 was heavily advertised in the new South Park episode. I can only expect to see more ads by the time the game is released. The marketing power of Nintendo is revealed. its not a sandbox style of game. you basically have a town or hub where you can upgrade your stuff. You go on quests with friends or alone to defeat monsters on large maps with different areas. Message | Report |

I would say this game has a shot at having a 1 million opening week (when combined with the Japanese release). Americas preorders will reach 80-90k prior to release with the opening week around 125k. With the current preorders it looks to track in at 70K to 80K in week one. However it still has 4 more weeks to go so maybe it could get a bump and get a week one release of 100-110K which would make it one of the best 3rd party release on the Wii in a looong time. @ TheConduit, what are you talking about? The reason Wii was chosen was probably because of the Wii install base in Japan and how bad Monster Hunter games does in the West compared with Japan. In online mode they also have special arena battle for hunters to fight agains pack of bosses. Like Dos Jagii x4,Roaldoros x2 or Diablos+Uragankin etc. And every weekend you will have a special event to fight against a small moutain size dragon. I hope Japan can deliver 1.5m to 4m sold of this game and the rest of the world 500k to 1m together. Then we would have one of the best selling core games on Wii. And on another note, is this what all core gamers have waited for in Japan? Will they buy Final Fantasy: CC or was Monster Hunter Tri it for them? Any other games they might like coming out on Wii? @KichiVerde, I doubt this will ever eclipse M&S at the Olympic Games (the best selling 3rd Party Game on the Wii btw) which is over 7mln WW. It has a snowball's chance in hell at doing more than GHII (currently at 4.26mln) if it takes off in not only Japan but also NA and Others (which I hope it does). Message | Report |

Still I think the point needs to be made And if they were to release Monster Hunter 3 for the PS3 for it to match monster hunter freedom unite sales in Japan it would have to sell one copy per console I know America and Others do buy Monster Hunter but like dragon quest its all about Japan Message | Report |

OK JTurner82 I will admit that when it comes to third party games the Wii falls short of PS3 and Xbox360 for most releases. But comparing the Wii's third party sales to that of the PSP and tell me you dont think Monster Hunter will sell. Monster Hunter (along with Dragon quest 10) will drive sales for the Wii right up. Not to sound pessimistic or anything, but I think this title is going to bomb. Terribly. Core games can't sell, and MH will never, ever, ever, ever find an audience on Wii. No matter what Nintendo or Capcom does, it is going to bomb. BOMB. Actually, I don't really think that, but I AM getting annoyed at people calling games "bombs" just because they didn't sell as much.
