I think theres a possibility that ODST would boost Halo 3's sell shorty. I remember God of War going back up on the sales charts when God of War 2 came out.
I think ODST will put Halo 3 back in the minds of gamers and help push it a little but after that I bet the sale will take a big dip early next year.

What does sales have to do with game quality? Keeping it 360 only, I think Gears franchise is way better than Halo franchise and Gears 2> Halo 3, but it sold way less. And don't get me started on Wii games.

Also I'd say this game deserves way higher than a 8.8, the only down side I think is the Story is kinda dumb, but other than that, It derverves a 9.5 alteast.

the 4 player online co-op is what sold me. I never played the other halo games so I was a little lost in the story since halo 3's story continues. But anyway played this 8 hour straight with online buddies.. 3 times (24 hours online gameplay for me) from start to finish and what a ride it was.

the best multipayer game for 360 hands down. cod4 is pretty good but in the end; forge, saving replays/photos and sharing them, and four player coop take halo 3 way over the top.

Halo 3 will easily surpass 8.5 million in sales. 9 million minimum. Thats my prediction. But who really knows? But it is on track to at least beating halo 2, as its tracking higher in NA, and its already beaten halo 2 in others and Japan.

I tried holding down the f5 button but that didnt work.

and I tried tapping it and it worked just fine but I gave up after only 300 let alone 300,000 times. sheesh who ever did it is a loser.

I know the same can't be said for the multiplayer but my god the campaign is just so poor. It really is dire.

There are so many other FPS titles, even from generations long past that piss all over this game.

As I predicted several weeks ago, its now selling more the cod 4 each week. We wont know for certain but cod 4 has been quickly decreasing in sales per week whilst halo 3 has stayed basically the same. So I expect halo to track above it consistently now. Halo 3 will surpass halo 2 soon enough.

I don't think we'll see any many games in the franchise as mario, but I agree. I expect halo to be split into 3 or 4 different games or something. Halo wars, halo chronicles, halo 4 or a marathon remake starring master chief and maybe a multiplayer only halo FPS with an even larger scale or something? The last ones pure speculation obviously.

A good game and I cant see anyone giving this game a 1. A piece of gaming history whether you like it or not. And Halo is the same as the previous 2? 99 percent of franchises are more or less the same. From Halo to Devil May Cry to Metal Gear Solid heck the only major difference between Call of Duty 4 and the previous 3 is the timeline.

Totaly useless, waste of 7m dvd disks and certainly not worth the price tag. Just the same as the previous 2 games, no real advancements in any area. Some new features but it looks to have been made purely to finish off the story line. Not worth the money. If you want to play online you may aswell stick with Halo 1 or 2 only buy this game if you REALLY want to know how it ends.

Definitely the most overrated videogame yet released, I can understand why people give it 0/10 to lower its overall score. Personally I couldn't have been more disappointed with its mediocrity and predictable nature, as well as lack of innovation and creativity, after all we had heard from the hype and marketing. Shows we just listened to the fanatical halo fanboys too much, we won't make that mistake again.

And now, back to COD4.

I gave it an 8 too much the same but still good game. Camaign is easily an achiilies foot of this game, cortana level(you know what i am talking about) i gave it an 6 Multiplayer is great as ever but levelin up is just too easy 8(and has taste of the sameness only item thing is the main difference
and replay value 9 also replay and forge can make it into long game 10 but campaign short so it is a 9 (4player co-op is nice though).

It's not just Nintendo fanboys who are rating it lowly. I'm a 360 owner and bought Halo 3, and I gave this game a rating of 5/10. I was suckered by the hype and marketing into thinking this game would actually be good. It's the definition of mediocrity and many games in 2007 are far better, particularly COD4.

And the user scores on vgchartz are meaningless, fanboys infest this site more than any other.

this is a great game along side COD4 lets face it if your a shooter fan and realism is your game or mass 5.1 sound and HDTV 1080p graphics is what your jonesing for the PS3 and 360 are the way to go shooters on the Wii well if you tried them split screen 4 player MOH sucks the graphics are unbarable. Call me spoiled I love My 360 and PS3 the wii its fun to bowl!but its not a shooters console dont get me wrong I beat MP3 but the wiimotes aiming and all was a real problem you have to take your aim of screen to turn around then reaim at whats shooting you. could have been done better! More of an action game then a shooter!H3 is a great online experience!

Does VGC count all versions of this game? Looking back at old NPD data, USA first year is severely under tracked. NPD has it at 4.82 million in the first year, VGC is 4.24 million. Unless VGC put those missing sales in 2008, Halo 3 could already be at 12.5 million.
