This is certainly the best racing game I have ever played. My 3 roommates and I play this game religiously, 3 of us have 1 star ratings and one has 3 stars and were all above 8k online. The point is when we do 4 player FFA races on 150cc mirror with aggressive items, it becomes an absolute chaoitc mess of shells, wall hugging, carving corners and landing tight jumps while dodging bananas and shells. For the winner? ETERNAL GLORY, and the loser, SHAME. Seriously no game gets as much 4 player fun as Mario kart when everyones into it. Message | Report |

I agree, one of the most fun games ever, and the ability to bring a guest online with you is still oddly rare on alot of Wii online games. You would think Nintendo being all about local multiplayer as well would be all over that, but the reason I don't play Excitebots nearly as much as MKwii is because you can't bring anyone online with you, or play against friends in worlwide races. This game is a staple, it's a must buy for any person that calls them-self a wii gamer. I own many wii games, and this is one of the three games that i've played for more than 50 hours. Recommended Item setting simply ruins this game. The items are simply too powerful. Inward drifter vehicles are broken but at least there's a bit of variety within them. Also, people need to gtfoff Funky/Daisy. That all said though, this game is bigger and better than the black sheep that was double dash; though i got used to it, i found it's general gameplay a little too dodgy (no R hopping and trailing items, double item boxes, character exclusive items etc.). One can only wonder what'll be implemented into the next iteration of Mario Kart. Tricking ftw... Message | Report |

It keeps going and going and going. It's pretty impressive that somewhere around 1/3 to 1/2 of all new Wii owners pick up this game. I personally preferred Double-Dash, but MK Wii is still quite fun, and comes with a nice hunk of plastic shaped like a steering wheel. :) Message | Report |

Nintendo putted in a plastic wheel which maybe cost some cents to made and bundled it with the game and managed with that tactic to sell the game to 15 million. This game is good and all but damn it needs to stop selling. I mean it shouldn't really have sold more than any other Mario Kart game... at least not this fast. Mario Kart 64 was a bigger jump than Mario Kart Wii from Double Dash. I mean motion controls really are not that big of a deal for kart racing games. They could have released Mario Kart 64 and it would have sold the same. They could have put a red cap on a turd and it would have sold. I'm not bashing the game because it is fun but damn. Game/Publisher/Total/US/Japan/UK 1) Mario Kart Wii / Nintendo / 8.94M / 5M / 2M / 1.94M They simply said Mario Kart has sold 8.94 in 2008 in the USA, UK and Japan. The best console iteration since the 64 version, and in some ways bests it, while in others (chiefly battlemode) it doesn't. Online is so addicting and a real pleasure. What is unbelievable is that, in hindsight, I remember reading many a person speak on how GTAiv was going to murder the sales of this game as well as the Wii. I think we're obviously looking at over 20m lifetime at this point. But the interesting thing that just occured to me is that we could be looking at one of the rare billion-dollar revenue games. And usually those are things like WoW or GH3, where there's the subscriptions or the higher price, respectively. Not a fairly standard boxed, $50, single-platform game. ... Really, we all knew this game would sell well, but this is really turning out to be one hell of a monster. As many others would agree, I'm expecting this to sell 12 million by the end of 2008... Ninty has confirmed 9.53 million copies shipped as of the end of September. We had sales at 8.41 million then. So we have definitely been under tracking the title in America as numerous others have mentioned by about 100,000 to 200,000 if I had to take a guess. But still really good sales for the title for 9.53 million to be shipped since the last week of April. Message | Report |
